Area Fofa Beach, located in the parish of Panxón in Nigrán near Vigo, in the south of the Rías Baixas, is one of Nigrán’s coastal options. It can be considered a semi-urban beach, as there are some houses nearby, although it lacks many services directly on the beach.

Its westward orientation towards the Bay of Baiona allows for incredible sunsets on clear days.

Pets on the Beach

In Nigrán’s beaches, pets are welcome all year round. During the summer months of June, July, and August, dogs can continue enjoying the sands, but only from 10:00 PM to 9:00 AM. Both in winter and summer, owners must keep them on a leash, as in other public spaces in the municipality.

Protected Natural Area

It is located in a special conservation area that includes this cape and islands in the municipality of Nigrán. This natural area is part of the European project Natura 2000 Network.

Natura 2000 is a European ecological network of areas for the conservation of biodiversity. It consists of Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) established under the Habitats Directive and Special Protection Areas for Birds (SPAs) designated under the Birds Directive.

Its purpose is to ensure the long-term survival of species and habitat types in Europe, contributing to halting the loss of biodiversity. It is the main instrument for nature conservation in the European Union.
