Santa Baia de Camos Church

The church of Santa Baía de Camos, located in Nigrán, is a magnificent example of 18th century sacred art. On its façade, we are greeted by a stone carving of Santa Baía, while inside, the main altarpiece displays another figure of the saint, this time sculpted in wood and surrounded by ornamental details

As we enter the enclosure, we can observe the 18th century mural paintings that decorate the barrel vault of the chancel. These paintings, well preserved, transport us to the time in which they were created, adding a historical and artistic touch to the sacred atmosphere of the church.

The main altarpiece of Santa Baía de Camos is an outstanding example of neoclassical characteristics. Its design reflects the simplicity of this style.

This church is not only a place of worship, but also a tangible testimony of the art and history of Nigrán.
