The Cross of Santa Marta is located on a promontory of natural rock in front of the chapel of Santa Marta, of transitional Romanesque origin.
The total height is 1.96 metres. It was built more than 40 years ago by the Baiona stonemason Fermín Pereira Álvarez. The peninsula of Santa Marta, where this cross is placed, is one of the settings of the epic poem "Orlando furioso" by Ludovico Ariosto.
